As-built Survey are needed to show the home or structure as it was constructed with any changes or additions made during or after construction. As-built drawings are made for use by architects or designers to develop the project into a complete set of working drawings (construction documents) for building permit.

Reasons for as-built survey?

Usually, some unforeseen difficulties in construction often make variations from the plans necessary or it may occur accidentally, making it economically unfeasible to correct.
Often times there are no existing original plans for the architect or designer to develop the project from.
As-built drawings assist a design professional in their preparation of the proposed construction documents.
As-built drawings are often used when seeking project approval for a remodel or addition from your local Building or Planning Agency

How does our As-built service work?

Service begins with your interest in an as-bult survey. We listen to your needs and ask you questions regarding the scope project, your time frame and any additional information. (Note for large or complex buildings projects a site visit maybe needed for additional information.) After review the scope of the project, we will send you a proposal for our services. With your approval we will begin by:

Scheduling a site visit to your property.
Document the building or home with photos and obtain existing dimensional data using a combination of lasers and tape measures for greater accuracy.
Document field observation of structural elements on an as needed bases.
Create an accurate set of CAD drawings from the photos and the dimensional data taken from the building or home.
Provide you, your architect or designer with a .dwg CAD and /or a pdf file.
Upon your request, we can print any number of sheets for a fee.

Type of As-build survey

CD Draft offers two different types of stock As-built Surveys, along with a custom as-buit survey. All three type of As-built survey gather the dimensions information from an existing building by way of field observation, photographs and data measuring. The difference between a standard survey, lite survey and a custom survey is the amount of building data being measured, observed and drawn for your as-built needs. Top of page

Our As-built Survey requirements are that all elements listed must be visible and/ or accessible. Electrical and mechanical elements are show as all diagrams, panel schedules, circuits, wire sizes, duct sizes and locations, etc are excluded. Some items may not be measured and drawn due to specific project conditions. Top of page
